138. Keep it simple.
cardigan - Target / shirt - AA / skirt - Dynamite / flats - Marc
I had such, such good intentions for this month's EBEW. I picked out what I was going to wear, had it all planned out for Tuesday morning and it was going to be lovely.
Then Tuesday happened.
It rained buckets, I was late for work, and when I got home from work I realized my internet/tv/phone had all crapped out on me. My lovely outfit wouldn't be documented! I only had it fixed last night and didn't have time to post with work.
So instead, I'm just posting it now. I always want to wear the EBEW outfits on the day of posting, just in case I see someone following the same theme. It's a far off chance, I know, but it's possible. I've worn a very similar variation of this outfit before, but the bare bones version. I love pairing these blues together. The skirt was the best choice for me, both color and item wise, since the humidity plaguing my dear city hadn't broken yet. It did yesterday, and now it's cold and I want my heat back. Never thought I'd be saying that.
I hope to get back into my posting soon. I'm saying that at a somewhat bad time as I'm soon off on vacation and going away for a couple of weeks! Really excited about that, first a trip with my Mom and then road trip with the bestie! Hopefully I'll use some of my spare time to write a few posts up. I'll be committing myself back to my blog once the fall hits.
Thanks for everyone who's continued visiting me here and stick around, it's going to be better promise! I may not be involved technically, but head on over to the EBEW site to see how everyone else interpreted their monochromatic looks!
Til next time! :)

136. Blocks of color.
cardi - Sisters / dress - Old Navy / bandeau - Walmart / grey flats that I wore to work!
Today's July's EBEW! I remembered! I meant to take pictures to post this morning, but my mornings are never that organized. Plus I've been missing my tripod mount for about a month, may have to go buy myself a new one so I can take advantage of the awesome weather that's continuing here in my fair city.
I realized today I do a lot more color blocking than I realize. I love bright colors and wearing several is better. I'm not quite as brave as all the other participants, but I think this is a pretty good start. Don't you?
Also, look at my room! Yay! It's not brown anymore! Painted on the weekend and I'm in love with it. It's so girly now. Finally.
Head on over to the EBEW site to check out the rest of the entries!

130. Neon...ish?
So being that I have become a bad blogger, I am not surprised in the least that I forgot to wear something ridiculously neon on this EBEW day. I did however wear something bright, so that's pretty close right?
shirt - LOFT / pants - Mango / tank - J. Crew / shoes - TOMS (not pictured)
Another short post, but I do have several lined up. I'm getting a little better. My tripod mount has gone missing, but I am making do. I even went to the gym and showered before taking these. That's dedication people.
Red may not be neon, but with the looks I was getting around here, it might as well be.

123. Green-themed everything
I love wearing green, and I'm ridiculously pale so St. Paddy's Day is a good holiday for me. So imagine my surprise when I realized I have like 1 green shirt for this coming weekend? The horror! Luckily boyfriend is on his way here shortly so I'm sending for supplies.
I would love to be taking pictures of my outfits that I've been wearing. I have not, because I hate point and shoot cameras for taking OOTD photos. It drives me insane. I tried 15 times and came up with one blurry photo that's not terrible. I tried, I really did.
Cardigan - Pull and Bear / Lace tee - Samuel&Co / tank - Bluenotes / leggings - F21
I tried, see? Sad part about these photos is you can't even see the freckles I got this weekend. They go nicely with the green. That's what I get for waiting til it's late afternoon to take pictures. That, and it's kind of grey out today. None of these things combine in my favour. I looked up the cardigan online, out of curiousity, and apparently the color is called emerald. I always think these types of green are more blue and therefore it doesn't count, but I love it anyways haha. Below is what it should look like!
This green attempt at an outfit post brought to you by EBEW! I love participating in these but haven't recently, so I knew green had to be the winner. And my reason for wearing leggings when it actually isn't that warm out? I went for a pedi today :) Spring green on my toes and ready for Ireland!

116. It almost counts.
For shame. I haven't posted an outfit since December 15th! Wow. That's the longest I've gone without posting one I think. So here's comes the overdue Christmas outfits. I wish I'd remembered to participate in today's EBEW, but today was the first day of classes so that wasn't a priority.
Class jacket / Scarf - Le Chateau / Dress - Christmas gift / Leggings - Dynamite / Boots - Steve Madden
This was the Christmas day outfit. Slightly black and white though, right? Linking up just because haha. The dress is actually more like a purple-grey pattern with black and I quite love it. I have a tendency to wear gifted clothes rather quickly after receiving them. In this case, it was Christmas morning and I had no clue what to put on for Boyfriend's family dinner. This was a great choice. You can't see my hidden shameless Santa socks, obviously the best part of my outfit. I get the Christmas obsession from my Mom, who is now reading this! Hi Mommyyyy :)
And of course, we got pictures. We both look a little weird, but here's my boy. Counting the days til he visits, and currently loving MSN and Skype for their communication abilities.
Stay tuned for another post on what I've been up to! I can actually post pictures now!

108. Watch me shine!
Bad pun, I know. I've recently fallen in love with sequins. Of all styles and shapes, and basically all colors. You can imagine my dismay when I started looking for sequins to add to my wardrobe and found things that weren't up to par. Covered in mesh sequins aren't shiny enough for me! Then I found this little gem. It comes in hot pink too, so I may have to go get that one too, but one shiny skirt is a giant step for me.
jacket - Mavi / shirt - J.Crew / skirt - Rio / necklace - gifted, "raw" / flats - Clarks
The same pose at different sizes, because it was cold. I love love love the shimmer of this when I walk. I'm slightly hoping that it's sold out by now in local stores, since the same supplier is used for several versions of this store. I'm home for the holidays and there's a tendency for everyone to be wearing the same thing. Praying that doesn't happen, but the other girls will likely be wearing trashier versions of this if such an encounter occurs. I keep it real modest, except for the fact that I'm showing the vast majority of my legs, which was just because my tights are dirty. Tights + winter = Happy Samantha.
If you haven't realized it, today is EBEW day! I love these themes so much. Plus it gave me an excuse to buy sequins instead of just fawning over every tank I've seen in the last 3 weeks (I have literally looked at every sequined piece in the local mall. Every. Single. One). Yay for Christmas and sequins!
P.S. my brain is clearly off for the holidays. I have the best red sequined shoes ever, and forgot that they're sequined while thinking about this theme. Oh well, Merry Christmas to me!

92. What a sight to see!
This month's EBEW is colored tights. For once, I own the perfect item without having to look for one. Shopping-not-necessary is really nice when the malls have all of a sudden become crazy.
I have had these tights since October of 2008. I went to Florida and bought neon purple tights at Hot Topic, along with black fishnets, to wear for Halloween. I think I thought they would be versatile? I didn't wear dresses or skirts at this point. I'm not entirely sure what I thought would happen when I bought them. Anywho, now I've had to Pinterest/blog-stalk some of my favourite bloggers for ideas on how to wear these things. I think I did alright!
cardigan - Tommy / tee - f21 / dress - Winners, gift / tights - Hot Topic / flats - Clarks
Not so bad if I do say so myself! I decided to go all out, in the most work appropriate way. I mean, I don't have purple legs all the time, may as well let them show, right? I tried several combinations of this dress and black tops. A turtleneck that I thought would work and didn't, a black v-neck sweater that was too long, and this shirt. I tried all three both under and over the dress, but this combination worked out the best.
I managed to twist my hair into what I'm calling a Quinn Fabray front braid while I waited for my grilled cheese to cook. Took my OOTD photos while I waited for it to cool. Multi-tasking at it's finest. I still think I look weird with purple legs, but I haven't had any strange comments yet. It's still early lol. Head on over to Everybody Everywear to see how everyone else is rocking their colored tights! I think I like this, but maybe toned down other than neon, so I'm heading over to check it all out!
One last thing: in case you missed it, check out the results post for my give-away! I'm still waiting for it to be claimed, but will be picking another winner if I don't hear back by Thursday! So please check and see if it's you!

79. Sometimes you've gotta improvise.
This month's EBEW is DIY. I think this theme is so awesome for so many bloggers. Thrifting and DIY-ing those items is such a popular thing lately. I don't thrift, because I just haven't ever tried it, and I suck at sewing. The only way I DIY is cutting. So, since I'm not so crafty, I decided to do-it-myself in a different way and make something that I really enjoy.
Yeah, okay, it's cheating. That's okay, sometimes you need to bend the rules a little. I was planning on posting this earlier during the weekend, in a Thanksgiving themed dessert post. I was also planning on making something to wear. Neither happened due to some family stuff, but the present is as good of a time as ever to post this awesome recipe! Click through to read the instructions, but beware this is photo heavy!

70. EBEW: Bright pants.
Another month of EBEW! This one was also a challenge, as most fashion related things have tended to be for me lately. I was in Toronto over the weekend to see Keith Urban *swoon* so I haven't posted in a couple of days, but managed to do lots of shopping! This was one my new purchases, a bit of a stretch for me. I kept it basic for today, but I'm looking forward to mixing it up more!
Jacket - Vero Moda
Tee - Dynamite
Red Pants - H&M
Flats - American Eagle
I do quite like how this turned out. The pants fit much better IRL, and when I haven't been sitting for 8 hours. I had gone to T.O. with the goal of getting bright blue pants, but found this 50% off at H&M. I couldn't pass them up. I'm quite into cropped pants lately, I just hope I can manage to translate them into fall with boots! It might work?
Can't wait to show you all my new purchases! I have so many great pieces that I'm super excited about. So much pretty. I love having things I know I couldn't find here in NL. Part of the reason why I love travelling so much. I'll post up some pictures of my trip once I get through them all!
Head on over to Everybody Everywear to see how everyone else is wearing their bright pants!

45. Your skin, oh yeah, your skin and bones / Turn into something beautiful
you'll have to excuse the self-captures today.
truest color of the tank
betcha didn't know I was basically a vampire, eh? I sparkle in the sun, I swear :)
I really want to like the color yellow. Its so bright and happy and cheery. But, being as pale as I am it does not work with my complexion, or at least the majority of the shades. I'm working on incorporating more yellow into my wardrobe, even with accessories, but today I chose to use my singular yellow item (which coincidentally was also included in my first EBEW, but wasn't too visible). I got this just cause it was on sale, it's comfy, and I do really like the color. With my blonder hair as of recently, it looks considerably better on me than previous attempts at yellow. I'm going to go on a yellow hunt for maybe a skirt or scarf or purse? Definitely going to take some style advice from all of these lovely ladies participating in EBEW. Such a great event!
Check out everyone else at Everybody Everywear! There's some awesome takes on this bright color!
P.S. Shameless song reference in my title? Maybe. One of my favourite songs ever? Definitely.

30. EBEW: Florals.
So another round of EBEW! I love florals even though there aren't enough of them in my wardrobe. Second day back to classes, on a nice day no less, deserved some bright colors. I'm pretty sure it's spring now. Almost certain. On a side note, I love the first picture. I'm terribly blonde now, and this shows it well in the sunlight. You likey?
I had a few fake flowers around the house, had to get them involved since it's not actually warm enough for real flowers yet. The laundry on the line makes me so happy. My mother uses clotheslines whenever possible. I am seeing lots of it lately and loving it!
Head on over to EBEW to see more floral inspiration! I love seeing how everyone interprets it. It perks my creativity and my shopping habit. Maybe the second one's not such a good thing...
