91. What time is it where you are?

The start of another week! This Monday isn't so crappy, Boyfriend comes home tomorrow night. Exciteddddd! I'm such a sook.

 sweater - Tommy (gift) / tank - Bluenotes / skinny cords - Gap / scarf - gift?

So you can see my new shelves here! I meant to document everything with photos but forgot. Oh well. I replaced a dresser with these. I have a lot of crap. I previously did not like the color on me, but I think it looks on better on me as a blonde, so that's fun to discover. The major win for this weekend was the baking. I made my second attempt at homemade from scratch cupcakes and they were awesome! A different recipe than I've seen, kind of comes together like a pound-cake but so so tasty. A giant success, so I've been told!

le cupcakes!

Let's see...recap of weekend? Saturday I was up by 8:30 getting ready for yoga, which the instructor was right in saying we would curse her for. The parents were in overnight so I got to chill with them for a while. Yesterday I tried to go shopping, found out I have to order one of Boyfriend's gifts, and got disgusted at some of the clothes in stores. Are we making our way back to 90's club wear? No one told me and I really don't want in. Though I do want the sequins. Every sequin item I saw drew me in like a magpie.

A quick and happy hello to all my new readers! I know many of you are following because of the give-away. I totally get that, and I hope that you will consider staying a follower in the coming weeks! Personally I try not to overload my reading list with blogs that I don't believe in or that don't fit with me. I understand if you choose not to stay but I'm hoping you'll give me a chance anyways :) I'm counting up entries and I'll have the results posted late this afternoon. Well, late afternoon for NL time anyways.

Stay tuned for the results!

Til next time!

29. First day of the semester.

Spring semester. I'm spending my summer in school, due to the compulsory schedule of my program. I dislike this very much. I have to constantly remind myself that I have less than 2 years left, and these are my last required courses. That helps...sometimes.

Since I've been away, I haven't done much outfit capturing. I didn't really tell anyone about the blog yet, still, but maybe soon. In honour of said vacation, here's a few snaps I got along the way. There are very few as I did lots of shopping but little picture taking.

25. My weekend so far.

Hello all! Hope your weekend has been as relaxed as mine! Hoping to put an OOTD post up sometime this week, once I get back into taking pics! I've got some planned post writing to do over the next week, I'm going on a little vacay out of province soon. Haven't been off the island in a while and I'm going stir crazy.

In the mean time, here's a few snaps from my weekend. Project 52 for this week and next should be up tomorrow, I get really bad with deadlines when the weekend comes lol.

Best part about kid's birthday parties? The junk food.

The little miss's cake.
Teabags left on the counter to cool. <3
just out of the oven cinnamon pull apart bread.
The pull apart bread is glorious. Me and my mom made it, but used less sugar. I'd stick with the recipe but it still tastes really good. Via Joy the Baker, found through stumbleupon. I told you it was good! I'm off to enjoy the rest of my time home, pan fried cod for supper. Nom! Loves!

Til next time!

First post: A new cookie recipe

First post. Obviously. I was going to wait til February 1st, but I made a new recipe today so it's just as well, eh?

I got the recipe from Bakerella, which was via Martha Stewart. It didn't work for the first batch. They're yummy but I can't figure out how to bake them without messing something. Two batches done, more dough left in the fridge. I think I'll do that tomorrow.

This was my result. Chocolate crackle cookies. Kind of brownie like but lighter. If they didn't annoy me through the baking process I'd have liked them a lot more.

I'll try the rest tomorrow. I'm going with my mother's advice and trying half of them on a greased sheet, and the other half on parchment paper again. It may work, as I'm going to make sure they're smaller. Gooey chocolate cookies are not so fun.

Here's hoping I keep it up! A mix of style & fashion, cooking & baking, photography and anything else that appeals to me. I'm planning on joining Project 52 at the beginning of next month, so I'll have some others to catch up on and post within the next two days. I think that's fair. I'll keep up with the weekly photo once I have the others done. I know I could just start here, but I have to do them all. It would kill me not to.

Til next time!
