140. An absence.

I realized lately I've reached a new level of neglect for my blog. It's not something I'm completely happy with, but that's what happens when life gets in the way. Reasons for said absence? It has been over a month, you see. August was it's own kind of busy, finishing up my work-term and the associated things to do. I managed to get a post in before I headed on my vacation time, but the relaxation left me to my own devices. Saw Keith Urban (!!!!) for the second time and loved it intensely. Some conflict happened with my tickets but I got a great seat after and even managed to hang with a friend during the show.

Montreal was such an amazing time. I loved the feel of the city, and getting to explore around it with my Mom. I brought my Nikon with me to try and document some of my outfits, but carrying it around while shopping got a little old. Still need to get Mom's pictures to post a few. Something I'm hoping to do soon.

After Montreal came Fredericton, to see the best friend before her return home! Met some more of her family and the new BF, who is a sweetheart. I like seeing her happy :) Our road-trip home was long and tiring but it was definitely a good experience. 36 hours, and I saw 4 provinces in 4 days. Well traveled takes on another new meaning.

And then we come to the real fun part: my second last term of university. School is busy all.the.time. I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things after being away from real classes for a year. I fully intended to update once I returned but classes hit me hard, along with all the work necessary for it. I'm trying to wear things that are comfortable but still cute. It's a challenge when it's still freaking summer here. On that note, here's my way of coping with the heat but still looking school appropriate.

I still haven't gotten around to wearing all my new clothes. I bought lots of cute stuff in Montreal but the weather isn't cooperating for the most part. More stripes to add, of course. A lot of the things I got were very dressy, so I'm trying to figure out how to bring them back to casual. It's an interesting challenge.

And on that note, off again I go. Two papers due this week, one written and one outlined but left to be finished. School work never ends for me. I'm gonna work harder to make sure that the next post isn't so long coming!

32. Now I'm legal everywhere!

Oh the irony of my life. The past two birthdays that I've had of significance, as in meeting the legal drinking age to be exact, were celebrated in the country opposite where it mattered. I turned 19 in the states, where the drinking age is 21, and turned 21 yesterday in Newfoundland where I'm already legal. Kind of amusing, no? I think it calls for another trip to Florida to buy cheap alcohol and not having to remember my age when thinking about my drink order.

Thank you to those who wished me a Happy Birthday! I had quite an interesting day but relaxing and good nonetheless. My dad is now on his dialysis and gone home, which is really the best present I could have asked for at the moment.

In honour of my birthday, and to show off some new purchases, I've decided to up my frequency of OOTD posts. I love posting and having things to post, and I've also decided to stop cropping and blurring myself out. I like being able to see a blog owner's face and I think most people would agree it helps establish connections. I may not always look decent but that's okay too. I'm not going to make myself out to be anything other than what I am; lazy. :)

As I tried to pick out pictures for this post, I realized I do not give good face most of the time. Last night's pictures are a disaster. I like natural light much more. I promise, I look better than this some of the time. And the no make-up face is something to get used to. I avoid make-up mainly all the time. And comments on pictures? More? Less? One outfit per post? No face? More faces? Let me know! Please!

I think that's it for today! I'm off to class again at 12:30, I didn't want to wait around campus during my break. So many things to do later, mainly cleaning. And organizing. And groceries. My fridge is pretty empty. And doing something else with my nails, I painted them white and they're very distracting on my keyboard. More of than later!

Project 52: Week 9

So this week's theme is "Express Yourself". Pretty broad topic but really cool nonetheless. I finally took a picture within the time limits for the week! Excited about that. I got the boy involved on this one, went out around taking some pictures for fun. I love it when he's home, he's always warm to cuddle with which is good since winter is very very cold.

In other news, I've started on my work-report. Being on a co-op placement means I don't get evaluated on much, since I'm working all the time. The main piece of evaluating what my grades are going to be, and if I get promoted into the next term, is the report. It's chosen either by the student or the supervisor/manager to be completed. In my case, I lucked out pretty well. My manager chose the topic, set guidelines when I met with her recently, and I get time at work to write it. All in all, I'm coming out on topic. Only 30 pages between me and my next term, which I'm not looking forward to. More on the hell that's coming my way later. Block registration is going to get it's own special post once my schedule is figured out. I'm likely going to rip it a new one :) Now, on to the pretty!
